WARNING
It is absolutely imperative that when installing the backhoe to your
tractor that you use only the top link attachment parts that are supplied with your
backhoe, and that they are installed properly as described in the user’s manual. Do not
use any top link other than that supplied with your backhoe. Failure to use the proper
top link or improper attachment may result in serious injury or DEATH from the backhoe
being thrust upwards by the digging force – crushing the operator. The top link must be
installed so that it forms a straight line from the attachment point of the backhoe to the
attachment point of your tractor. Use only a serviceable top link pin that has no defects.
IMPORTANT – TOP LINK MUST FORM A STRAIGHT LINE!
The top link of this backhoe attachment is extremely strong, and has been specically
designed to meet structural rigidity that allows for the correct stiffness/ductility ratio, and
will deform (bend) if too much compressive force is applied rather than snap or damage
your tractor’s top link attachment point. If you see that the top link is deformed in any way,
it is a sign that too much compressive force has been applied by, draft control not turned off,
attempts to raise the backhoe using the lift arms, raising the rear tractor tires off the ground
with stabilizer legs. This design feature allows for simple replacement of the backhoe top
link rather than damaging your tractor, which is a much less expensive option. Bending
this top link requires extreme force, so if you do notice that any of the top link components
are deformed replace with only OEM components and re-evaluate the stresses that have
been applied and make corrections to prevent it from happening again. NOTE - BENT OR
DAMAGED TOP LINK COMPONENTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
