At the end of the working season or when the backhoe attachment will not be used
for a long period, it is a good practice to clean off any dirt that may have accumulated
on the backhoe and any of the moving parts. Apply a coat of grease to the cylinder
rods to prevent rust.
Detach and store the backhoe attachment in an area where children normally do
not play. Secure by using blocks and supports.
Clean as necessary.
Check pivot pins for wear and replace if necessary.
Inspect the backhoe for loose, damaged or worn parts and adjust or replace as
needed. Do not forget to check the safety labels. Replace worn labels.
Store unit inside if possible for longer life. Alternatively, cover with a tarp to reduce
exposure and prevent weather damage.
Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to prevent rust.
