Overview

The WyreStorm EX-100-H2 is a 4K/60 4:2:0 HDR Extender designed to transmit high-quality video, audio, and USB 2.0 signals over long distances using HDBaseT technology. It also features Power over HDBaseT (PoH) and audio passthrough capabilities, making it a versatile solution for various AV installations.

Function Description:

The EX-100-H2 system consists of a transmitter and a receiver unit. The transmitter takes HDMI, analog audio, and USB (host) inputs, and converts them into an HDBaseT signal for transmission over a single category cable. The receiver then converts the HDBaseT signal back into HDMI, analog audio, and USB (device) outputs for connection to a display device, audio system, and USB peripherals.

Key functions include:

  • Video Extension: Extends 4K/60 4:2:0 HDR video signals up to 70m/230ft over Cat6 cable or 100m/328ft over Cat6a/7 cable. It supports various resolutions, including 1920x1080p @60Hz 12bit, 3840x2160p @30Hz 8bit 4:4:4, 3840x2160p @30Hz 12bit 4:2:2 HDR, and 3840x2160p @60Hz 8bit 4:2:0 HDR.
  • Audio Passthrough: Allows for the transmission of analog audio signals (3.5mm TRS stereo) from the transmitter to the receiver, enabling audio embedding or de-embedding at either end. It supports 2ch Analog/PCM and multichannel formats like LPCM up to DTS-X and Dolby Atmos.
  • USB 2.0 Extension: Extends USB 2.0 signals, with the transmitter acting as a Type B host and the receiver providing four Type A device ports. This enables the use of USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and cameras over the extended distance, with a maximum uplink speed of 190Mbps.
  • Power over HDBaseT (PoH): The transmitter unit powers the receiver unit over the HDBaseT cable, simplifying installation by eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the receiver end.
  • Control Signal Extension: Supports bidirectional RS-232 and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) pass-through, allowing for control of connected devices over the HDBaseT link.
  • EDID Management: Handles EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) to ensure proper communication between source and display devices.
  • HDCP 2.2 Compliance: Supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection version 2.2, ensuring compatibility with protected content.
