receptacle you will be connecting the charger to, and has an appliance
coupler that matches the ac inlet provided on the charger. This supply
cord must be a minimum of 0.75mm
2
in conductor cross sectional
area, and be a 3-wire type having 2 live conductors plus ground
(earth).
DC Wiring:
Warning: Fire hazard. DC wiring must be in good condition
and correctly sized to prevent overheating.
Connect your DC cables to your Truecharge 20i/40i before making
any connections to the battery. Use wires that are as large in diameter
as possible and keep wiring runs as short as possible, to minimize
voltage drops and prevent overheating. The minimum wire sizes we
recommend are 5mm
2
for the Truecharge 20i and 8mm
2
for the
Truecharge 40i. Make sure that the polarity is correct before making
the final connection or damage to the charger may result.
Operating Instructions -
Normal Charge Cycle
1) For all batteries, carefully study and follow all of the battery
manufacturer's recharging instructions, especially specific precau-
tions such as removing or not removing cell caps while charging,
and recommended rates of charge. If you are charging a flooded
battery, add distilled water in each cell until battery acid reaches
level specified by battery manufacturer.
2) If possible, disconnect all loads from the battery.
3) Set the "BATTERY TYPE" selector switch on the Truecharge
20i/40i to the type of battery you are charging. If your battery has
removable caps that allow you to add water, it is a flooded
