Xerox Phaser 3600 Printers
Letter of Volatility

Phaser 3600 series printers do not retain any latent user image in the mechanical
system of the printer during normal operation. If a print job is disrupted prior to
completion a latent image may exist in the mechanical systems of the printer; the image
may be removed by cycling power or printing a page.

Phaser 3600 series printers do not retain any latent image in the print controller (raster
image processor) or associated RAM following the completion of printing. No user data
is maintained in the print controller or associated RAM following the cycling of power.

Phaser 3600 series printers contain 16MB non-volatile nand flash memory on the
controller for the storage of printer firmware and 4MB non-volatile flash memory for the
storage of Fonts, Forms and Macros. These modules do not retain any variable printing
data and no user information is retained in this memory.

The chart below shows the corresponding memory types for the Xerox Phaser 3600
series printers.

Model Number Memory Type Volatility User Data
3600/B/N/DN SDRAM Volatile Yes
1

Flash ROM (Nand Flash) Non-Volatile No
3

 CRUM (EEPROM) Non-Volatile No
2
  Font DIMM Non-Volatile No
3

Notes:
1
SDRAM memory can be upgraded to 512MB for all models
2
Contains printer configuration and operational parameters. It does not contain user print data.
3
Is used for firmware code, fonts, etc, does not contain any variable user print data.
