4) System tests
• Relay Test (Integration)
– Verifies relay function, wiring, and FACP’s reaction to inputs
– Validates the connection between detector and FACP or other systems
– Initiates in VSC from the device menu
• Pipe Integrity (Smoke Test):
– Verifies transport time from the farthest hole or a maintenance test point and
compares with the original and previously recorded results to identify
deviations
• Performance Test:
– Measuring the performance of the system based on the given design
arrangement and application parameters run through ASPIRE (ceiling height,
classification, air circulation, etc.)
4) System tests
• Performance Test Types:
– Smoke Pellet Performance Test
– Paper Burn Performance Test
– Overheated PVC/LSF Wire Performance Tests
– Overheated Resistor Performance Tests
– Polyurethane Mat Performance Test
– Aerosol smoke test
• The performance tests conducted during commissioning depend on the
classification of the ASD system, local code, or AHJ preference
