2 Designing a Pipe Network
To design an effective pipe network, it is suggested that the following steps are taken. The order in which
these are completed may differ with each project.
l Gather site information
l Define VESDA Addresses (also known as VESDA Zones)
l Select appropriate sampling method(s)
l Select appropriate detector
l Plan and map a pipe network
l Calculate design performance using the ASPIRE2 software
l Record the details of the optimum design
