DCIN Jack
This is the DC power supply connection for the
transceiver.UsethesuppliedDCcabletoconnectdi-
rectlytoaDCpowersupply,whichmustbecapable
ofsupplyingatleast23A@13.8VDC.
GND
Usethisterminaltoconnectthetransceivertoagood
earth ground, for safety and optimum performance.
Usealargediameter,shortbraidedcableformaking
ground connections, and please refer to page 9 for
othernotesaboutpropergrounding.
Topreventthedamage fromlightning,at-
mosphericelectricity,electricalshock,etc.,
pleaseprovideagoodearthground.
µ-TUNE Jacks
These jacks are used to connect the optional RF
µTuningKit,signalinandsignalout.

ThisRCAoutputjackprovidesregulated,separately
fused 13.8VDC atupto 200 mA, to power an ex-
ternaldevicesuchasapacketTNC.Makesureyour
devicedoesnotrequiremorecurrent(ifitdoes,use
aseparatepowersource).
PTT Jack
ThisRCAinputjackmaybeusedtoprovidemanual
transmitteractivation using a footswitch or other
switching device. Its function is identical to the
[
MOX
]
button on the front panel.The same line is
available at the
RTTY/PKT
jack forTNC control.
Open-circuit voltage is +5 VDC, andclosed-circuit
currentis2mA.
EXTALCJack
This RCA input jackaccepts negative-goingexter-
nalALC (Automatic Level Control) voltage from
a linear amplier to prevent over-excitationby the
transceiver.Acceptableinputvoltagerangeis0to–4
VDC.
IFOUTJack
ThisRCAjackoutputsthereceiver9MHzIFsignal.
Thissignaldoesnotpassthroughtheroonglter.
TXGNDJack
ThisRCAjack’scenterpinisclosedtogroundwhile
thetransceiver’stransmitterisengaged.Thetransis-
