What to do if my Yamaha RX RX-Z7 Receiver fails to turn on?
    • S
      Shannon McclainAug 19, 2025
If your Yamaha Receiver fails to turn on or enters standby mode soon after being powered on, there might be several reasons. First, ensure the power cable is firmly connected. An incorrect speaker impedance setting can also cause this; adjust it to match your speakers. The protection circuitry might have been activated, so verify all speaker wire connections are secure and not touching anything else. Finally, if the unit experienced a strong electric shock, turn it off, disconnect the power cable, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

If your Yamaha Receiver is not displaying a picture, check the following: If your video monitor is connected to an analog video output jack, and the picture is input at different types of video jacks, set “Analog ? Analog” to “Conversion” or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to this unit. Also, if this unit outputs video signals that are not supported by the video monitor connected to the HDMI OUT jack, connect your video monitor to the HDMI OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks.
