Overview

This document describes the Yaufey PD161D Home Dehumidifier, a device designed to reduce humidity in various indoor spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, basements, offices, and storage rooms. The dehumidifier aims to create a healthier and more comfortable environment by efficiently removing moisture from the air.

Function Description:

The Yaufey PD161D operates by drawing in humid air, removing moisture, and then expelling drier air. It features a control panel for user interaction, allowing for power control, humidity level settings, timer functions, and fan speed adjustments. The dehumidifier automatically detects and displays the room's current humidity and temperature. Users can set a desired humidity level between 30%RH and 80%RH in 5% increments. When the room humidity exceeds or falls below the set level, the dehumidifier will automatically start or stop. Setting the humidity to 30%RH activates a continuous dehumidifying mode.

The device includes a TIMER function for both delayed start and delayed stop, configurable from 1 to 24 hours. If the unit is running, setting the timer will initiate a delayed stop. If the unit is off, setting the timer will initiate a delayed start. The fan speed can be set to either High or Normal. A higher fan speed facilitates quicker moisture removal, while a normal speed is preferred for quieter operation once humidity has been reduced.

An "Auto Defrost Feature" is integrated to handle lower temperature conditions. If frost is detected, the system automatically initiates a defrost cycle where the fan runs at high speed, the compressor stops, and a defrosting symbol is displayed on the LCD screen.

The dehumidifier collects water in a removable bucket. A "Tank Full" indicator light flashes when the bucket is full, and the machine automatically shuts down. The unit restarts once the bucket is emptied and properly reinserted. For continuous operation, the device supports continuous draining via a drain pipe connected to a dedicated port. The continuous drain port has a diameter of 0.63 inches. Proper installation of the drain pipe is crucial to ensure smooth water flow and prevent issues like air and water accumulation in the pipe or overflow. The drain pipe should always slope downwards, and its outlet should be lower than the continuous drain outlet by at least 3.97 inches.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Intuitive interface with buttons for Speed, Timer, Setting, and Power, along with a digital display and indicators for "Tank Full" and fan speed.
  • Humidity Control: Adjustable humidity levels from 30%RH to 80%RH in 5% increments, with a continuous dehumidifying mode at 30%RH.
  • Timer Function: Delay Start or Delay Stop functionality for 1 to 24 hours.
  • Fan Speed: Two settings (High and Normal) for customized moisture removal and noise levels.
  • Water Collection: Removable water bucket for manual emptying.
  • Continuous Draining: Option to connect a drain pipe for continuous water removal, eliminating the need for manual bucket emptying.
  • Auto Shut-off: Automatically turns off when the water bucket is full to prevent overflow.
  • Auto Defrost: Automatically defrosts when operating in low temperatures to maintain efficiency.
  • Safety Features: Includes a "3 minutes delay protection" for the compressor to prevent frequent starts and ensure longevity.

Maintenance Features:

  • Bucket Cleaning: The water collection bucket should be cleaned with water every two weeks.
  • Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter needs to be cleaned with clean water at least once every 30 days. It is crucial not to operate the dehumidifier without the filter, as dirt and lint can clog it and reduce performance.
  • Storage: For long periods of non-use, the dehumidifier should be turned off, the bucket emptied (after waiting one day), the main unit, bucket, and air filter cleaned, the power cord wrapped, and the unit covered with a plastic bag. It should be stored upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.

Important Safety Instructions:

  • Always turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before cleaning.
  • Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
  • Operate the unit using the control panel, not by plugging/unplugging.
  • Ensure the water hose for continuous draining slopes slowly downward.
  • Do not use if the power cord is broken or damaged.
  • Avoid placing the dehumidifier near heat sources, in areas where it may be splashed by water, or where combustible gas or chemicals are handled.
  • Do not climb on or place objects on the dehumidifier.
  • Ensure the power cord is not compressed by heavy objects.
  • Place the dehumidifier on a level, sturdy surface.
  • Disconnect power if strange sounds, smells, or smoke occur.
  • Do not remove the water bucket while the dehumidifier is working.
  • Do not cover intake or exhaust openings.
  • Exercise caution when using around infants, children, the elderly, or individuals not sensitive to humidity.
  • Never insert fingers or foreign objects into grills or openings.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the dehumidifier yourself.
  • Do not drink or use the drained water.
  • Always insert filters securely.
  • Avoid using in very small spaces.
  • If water enters the dehumidifier, turn it off, disconnect power, and contact customer service.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the machine.
  • Individuals without civil capacity or relevant experience should only use the machine under professional instruction.
  • Before turning on, ensure the air outlet is open to prevent overheating.
  • Do not unplug the power cord directly to turn off the machine.
