DESCRIPTION

These high efficiency, compact units employ induced com-

bustion, reliable hot surface ignition and high heat transfer

aluminized tubular heat exchangers. The units are factory

shipped for installation in upflow or horizontal applications.

These furnaces are designed for residential installation in a

basement, closet, alcove, attic, recreation room or garage

and are also ideal for commercial applications. All units are

factory assembled, wired and tested to assure safe depend-

able and economical installation and operation.

These units are Category I listed and may be common

vented with another gas appliance as allowed by the

National Fuel Gas Code.

WARRANTY

20-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger.

10-year heat exchanger warranty on commercial applica-

tions.

5-year limited parts warranty.

This document describes the YORK Affinity Series PT8-UH gas-fired, high-efficiency two-stage upflow/horizontal furnaces, designed for both standard and Low NOx applications. These furnaces operate at 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) and are available for natural gas with inputs ranging from 40 to 120 MBH.

Function Description:

These furnaces are designed for residential and commercial heating applications, providing efficient and reliable warmth. They utilize induced combustion, hot surface ignition, and high heat transfer aluminized tubular heat exchangers. The two-stage operation, including a two-stage gas valve, two-stage inducer, and two-speed blower, ensures enhanced comfort and quiet operation. The units are factory-assembled, wired, and tested for safe, dependable, and economical installation. They are Category I listed, allowing for common venting with other gas appliances as per the National Fuel Gas Code.

Fuel Type: Natural Gas (convertible to Propane (LP) with accessory kit 1NP0347, but Low NOx models cannot be converted to propane unless screens are removed).

- Line Contact: No (Upflow/Upflow B-Vent), Yes (Horizontal/Horizontal B-Vent) - Line contact permitted between rear panel/side panel intersection and building joists/studs/framing.
Horizontal Venting: Approved with auxiliary power vents (Fields Controls Model SWG-4Y or Tjernlund GPAK model). Uses 4" (10.2 cm) diameter pipe with a minimum length of 4.5 feet (1.37 m) and a maximum length of 34.5 feet (10.82 m) with up to 4 elbows.

Maintenance Features:

Easy Front Access: Convenient access from the front of the unit for cleaning, maintenance, or service.
Filter Options: Supports disposable, washable fiber, and pleated filters. Recommended filter sizes vary by cabinet size and return configuration (side or bottom). Airflow data is provided for systems without filters, and a method for calculating airflow with filters is included, considering pressure drop values.
Accessory Filters: Side return filters (1SR0302, 1SR0200), bottom return filters (1BR0114/0214, 1BR0117/0217, 1BR0121/0221, 1BR0124/0224), and internal fiber filters (1HF0801) are available.
