SHIFTING FROM HIGHER TO LOWER
GEAR
Double clutching is necessary at trans-
missions with 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th syn-
chronized speed when shifting from the
2nd to the 1st speed. Double clutching is
also recommended when shifting from
the other speeds.
DRIVING DOWNHILL
Driving downhill without the
shifted gear is forbidden. If
driving down the long hill, shift so
lower gear the sharper one the
hill is. If possible shift the lower
gear before driving downhill.
Remember:
The gear you use reliably for driving
uphill is safely suitable for driving down-
hill.
Driving down the sharp hill with trailer
equipped with air or hydraulic trailer bra-
kes the foot operated brakes must be
applied already from beginning of decli-
nation!
