External energy storage on MS990
Generally, the internal capacitor (3 Goldcaps and
a step-up transformer to produce full running volt-
age from the 3 x 3 V Goldcaps) is sufficient for al-
most all applications.
Nevertheless, there is a possibility to connect an
additional capacitor between “ELKO Plus” (capac-
itor positive) and ground: External capacitor need
a dielectric strength of up to 16 V, the capacity is
unlimited - we recommend the ZIMO products
GOLMRUND and GOLMLANG, for example.
Connecting “normal Elkos/capacitors” would be
unnecessary (although the connection is named
“ELKO”), because they do not provide a significant
contribution compared to the internal stay-alive ca-
pacitor.
