Overview

This document is the user manual for the Zokop YPS5-12C Portable Air Conditioner, providing comprehensive information on its operation, maintenance, and safety.

Function Description:

The Zokop YPS5-12C is a portable air conditioner designed for household indoor use. It offers multiple operating modes: Cool, Fan, and Dry (dehumidification). The unit is equipped with an automatic water vaporization system, which cools the condenser with circulating condensing water to improve cooling efficiency and save energy. It features a control panel on the unit and a remote controller for convenient operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: YPS5-12C
  • Fuse Specification: Φ5×20mm
  • Fuse Voltage: 250VAC
  • Fuse Current: 3.15A
  • Dimensions: Approximately 28.5 inches (height) x 17 inches (width) x 14.1 inches (depth).
  • Exhaust Duct Length (Max Developed): 59 inches.
  • Temperature Setting Range (Cool Mode): 60.8°F to 86°F.
  • Dehumidification Operation: Compressor starts if room temperature > 63°F; turns off if room temperature < 59°F; restarts if room temperature > 59°F (with a three-minute delay protection). Fan runs at low speed in dry mode.
  • Remote Controller Batteries: 2x AAA (DC1.5V) batteries.

Usage Features:

  • Placement: The unit should be placed on a horizontal floor near a window, with at least 19.7 inches of space around it to ensure good air circulation and optimal performance. It must be installed vertically for normal compressor operation.
  • Installation: The manual details a four-step installation process involving measuring the window size, adjusting the window sealing plate, swirling the exhaust pipe assembly into the rear panel outlet, and clipping the exhaust pipe assembly into the window seal panel.
  • Control Panel & Remote Controller:
    • Power Key: Turns the A/C ON/OFF.
    • Speed Key: Selects high, middle, or low fan speed (available in Cool and Fan modes).
    • Temperature/Time Adjusting Key: Increases/decreases setting temperature in cooling mode; adjusts ON/OFF timing in timing mode.
    • Mode Key: Selects Cool, Fan, or Dry mode.
    • Timer Key: Sets ON time in standby mode; sets OFF time in ON mode (1-24 hours).
    • Temperature/Time Display Window: Shows adjusted temperature and time.
    • °C-°F Key: Switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
    • Swing Key: Turns ON/OFF the swinging function (can also be activated by pressing speed and timing keys simultaneously).
  • Operating Modes:
    • Cool Mode: Cooling indicator lamp lights up. Temperature adjustable from 60.8°F to 86°F. Fan speed adjustable.
    • Fan Mode: Wind indicator lamp lights up. Fan speed adjustable. Temperature cannot be set.
    • Dry Mode (Dehumidification): Dehumidification indicator lamp lights up. Requires removal of the water plug and insertion of a water guide pipe into a container or drainage channel. Fan runs at low speed; speed cannot be adjusted. Temperature cannot be set. The exhaust pipe assembly should be removed in dry mode for optimal dehumidification; otherwise, the "FL" alarm may appear.
  • Error Detection: The unit includes intelligent error detection with codes:
    • E1: Error of the coil's temperature sensor.
    • E2: Error of indoor temperature sensor.
    • E4: Anti-freezing protection (coil temperature too low, A/C off; recovers when temperature exceeds 46.4°F).
  • Troubleshooting: A table provides common faults, causes, and solutions (e.g., "FL" display indicates full water vessel, requiring draining; A/C not working due to power off, time OFF function, or direct sunlight; A/C starting frequently due to open doors/windows, heat sources, dirty filter, or blocked air inlet/outlet; big noise due to uneven placement; compressor not working due to delay protection).

Maintenance Features:

  • Drainage: The unit has an automatic water vaporization system. When the internal vessel is full, "FL" will display, and the compressor will stop. To drain, unplug the power cord, remove the exhaust duct, move the A/C, pull off the drain plug, drain water, re-plug, and reinstall the exhaust duct.
  • Cleaning:
    • Always turn off the A/C and unplug it before maintenance or repair to avoid electric shock.
    • Wipe the machine with a soft, semi-dry cloth. Do not use chemical reagents like benzene, alcohol, or gasoline, as they can damage the surface.
    • Prevent water from splashing into the A/C.
  • Filter Screen Cleaning:
    • Recommended every two weeks, or more frequently if indoor air quality is poor.
    • Remove the lower intake grille and filter screen.
    • Clean with clean or warm water (around 104°F) with neutral detergent.
    • Dry in a cool place, away from heat sources, to prevent deformation.
    • Do not run the machine without filters.
    • For light dust, a vacuum cleaner can be used.
  • Seasonal Cleaning (for long-term storage):
    • Drain all water.
    • Run in fan mode for 2 hours to dry the interior.
    • Turn off and unplug the A/C.
    • Wash and reassemble the filter screen.
    • Dismantle and properly store the exhaust duct.
    • Remove batteries from the remote control.
    • Cover the A/C with a plastic bag and store in a dry place.
  • Re-use after long storage:
    • Confirm water plugs and filters are installed.
    • Check power cord for damage.
    • Reinstall remote control batteries.
    • Reinstall other components according to instructions.

Safety Warnings:

  • Prohibit operations that endanger health and safety.
  • Only for household and indoor use, in a dry environment.
  • Do not stack items around the machine or place heavy objects on it.
  • Do not operate with wet hands or in humid environments.
  • Do not use wax, thinner, or irritant detergents for cleaning.
  • Do not drink condensed water.
  • Unplug the power supply if not used for a long time.
  • Non-professionals should not disassemble or repair the machine.
  • Do not use damaged power cords/plugs or insert into loose sockets.
  • Ensure voltage meets requirements.
  • Do not modify or extend the power cord.
  • Use grounding receptacles.
  • Do not plug/unplug with wet hands.
  • Pinch the plug, not the cord, when unplugging.
  • Turn off the machine before pulling the plug.
  • Do not control power by plugging/unplugging.
  • Do not share power outlets with multiple high-power appliances.
  • Keep away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • Do not press heavy objects on the power cord.
  • Do not insert fingers or hard objects into the air outlet.
  • Do not let water enter electrical parts.
  • If water enters, shut down, unplug, and contact professional maintenance.
  • If gas leaks, open windows for ventilation before running the machine.
  • Users must be at least eight years old; weak or psychologically impaired individuals must be supervised. Children are prohibited from playing and must be supervised during cleaning/maintenance.
  • Place A/C on even ground, installed vertically.
  • Maintain at least 19.7 inches from surrounding objects; keep air inlet/outlet smooth.
  • Do not use near gasoline or other inflammable liquids.
  • Do not use spraying agents or flammable substances near the A/C.
  • Remote control: Do not use leaking batteries. Battery chemicals can cause burns; if contact occurs, wash with clean water and seek medical attention if ingested.
