Timing the Mechanism
It is necessary to re-time the
dispenser when replacing the
sealer arm, idler gear, cutter
wheel or related parts.
Refer to Figures 9 and 10
1. Position the sealer arm (S)
against the frame.
2. Align the second tooth root,
point (T), of ratchet gear with
offset in frame above gear.
3. Align the washer peg (R) with
one of the frame slots and
engage the spring loops
against the pins in the idler
gear (U) and idler stud (Q).
4. Engage the idler gear with the
sealer arm and the ratchet
gear.
5. Turn the idler stud clockwise
240° and position washer peg
in the slot.
6. Replace locknut (P).
Lubrication
Routine lubrication of the box
sealer is not required. Lubricate
replacement moving parts as
follows:
1. Apply light film of SAE #30 oil
to bronze bearings.
2. Apply light coat of Lubriplate
630AA or equivalent to all
other moving part bearing
surfaces including gear teeth
and spring posts.
Do not lubricate tape drum
friction assembly parts.
