General Warnings and Cautions
The following list of warnings and cautions pertain to the general use and care of
the Freedom 5000.
Failure to follow these warnings and cautions may result in death, injury, or poor
equipment performance.
WARNINGS
THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE OPERATED AND SERVICED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY. READ AND
UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTION MANUAL COMPLETELY BEFORE OPERATING OR SERVICING.
VERIFY THE COVER, INTERNAL PCB’S AND FIELD WIRING ARE SECURELY IN PLACE BEFORE APPLYING POWER
AND OPERATION.
DO NOT EXPOSE THE FREEDOM 5000 TO ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR CONTINUOUS SEVERE MECHANICAL
SHOCK.
DO NOT USE THE FREEDOM 5000 IF ITS ENCLOSURE IS DAMAGED, CRACKED, OR HAS MISSING
COMPONENTS.
PROTECT THE FREEDOM 5000 FROM DRIPPING LIQUIDS AND HIGH POWER SPRAYS.
CAUTIONS
FREEDOM 5000 WILL NOT OPERATE WITHOUT POWER APPLIED.
USE ONLY A SENSOR ASSEMBLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE FREEDOM 5000 AND APPROVED BY SCOTT
SAFETY.
PERIODICALLY TEST FOR CORRECT OPERATION OF THE SYSTEMS ALARM EVENTS BY EXPOSING THE
MONITOR TO A TARGETED GAS CONCENTRATION ABOVE THE HIGH ALARM SET POINT.
CALIBRATE WITH KNOWN TARGET GAS AT START-UP AND CHECK ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE.
