pot.AlsowhentheFXRETURNjackisunplugged,thesignalpathis
normalized,meaningtheFXLOOPRTNLEVELpotisoutofthepath
andthepathgainisequalto1.
TheBOOSTcircuitispost
MASTER,sotheleveloftheMASTERis
alwaysboostedproportionallyupto+16dBofadditionalgain.
Optimizing Signal Levels
Today’spedalboardsareheavilypopulatedwithallkindsofeffects
byplayersseekingtosculpttheirspecial,oftenuniquetone,and

typicallyachainofahalfdozentoadozenstompboxes.Havingso
manypedalsusuallyresultsinalossofsignallevelandintegrity,and
mostoftenasignalpathfarfromoptimized.TheA/DAAPP1’s
effectsloophasalowimpedancebufferdrivingtheeffectsloop
and
ahighimpedancebuffertorecoveranylossesintheeffectschain.
Therecoverybufferwon’tcoloryoursignalandhasanadjustable
leveltoreturnthesamesignallevelthatdrivesth eeffectschain.
UsingtheFXLOOPIN/OUTswitch,youcan“AB”youreffects
individuallyorin
achaintochecktheirsignallevelsand,usingthe
APP1’sFXLOOPRTNLVL(ReturnLevel)trimpot,balanceand
optimizethesignalcomingfromyoureffectspedals.Thiswill
increaseheadroom,lowernoiseandprovideseamlessswitchingof
yourindividualeffectswithoutjumpsinsignallevels.Astep
