Opening and closing with motor operator
(EK6 only): The earthing switch can also be fitted
with a motor operator. Briefly operate the electri-
cal control for opening or closing. The earthing
switch is then switched automatically into the
opposite position.
Motorized opening and closing of EK6
The earthing switch can also be fitted with a mo-
tor drive (remote control operation.) In this case
opening and closing of the EK6 is done by electri-
cal drive connected with bevel gear. The earthing
switch is then switched automatically into the re-
quired position by remote control through electri-
cal circuits.
Emergency manual operation
In case of an issue with motor drive, the earthing
switch can be always switched to emergency
manual operation with lever figure 2, in a similar
way to manually operated earthing switch.
Caution
During emergency manual operation of a
motor operated earthing switch, the interlock
is not functional!
On emergency manual operation, coupling with
the motor operator is automatically released.
To disengage the coupling to the motor drive,
first push the lever further in the preselected
direction into to the relative final position (turn-
ing through a small angle). On the next operation
with the motor drive (after function has been re-
stored), the coupling automatically re-engages.
Note
The lever may only be use temporarily to carry
out an emergency manual switching operation.
The power to the motor drive must be switched
off during the time of any emergency manual op-
eration.
