Verify the projection lamp is securely installed (refer to the "Replacing the Lamp" section). Also, confirm that you have removed the lens cap and the projector is switched on.

For models X1111/X1111H/X1111A/X1211/X1211H/X1211K/ X1213P/X1213PH, the distance should be 4.9 to 37 feet (1.5 to 11.3 meters). For models X1311KW/X1313PW/X1313PWH, it should be 4.3 to 32 feet (1.3 to 9.7 meters). For model X1211S, it should be 3 to 18 feet (0.9 to 5.5 meters).
