Why does my ACU-RITE 02446 Weather Station show dashes for rainfall?

  Dashes on the display indicate that the display and rain gauge are not synchronized. To resolve this, try the following: * Relocate the display and/or the rain gauge to be within 100 ft (30 m) of each other. * Ensure both units are at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from electronics that may interfere with wireless communication, such as TVs, microwaves, and computers. * Use standard alkaline batteries; avoid heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries. * Reset the units by bringing both the display and rain gauge indoors, positioning them side by side, removing the batteries from both, reinstalling batteries in the rain gauge first, then in the display, and letting them sit within a couple of feet of each other for a few minutes to establish a strong connection.

  If your ACU-RITE Weather Station display shows zeroes for rainfall, remove the rain gauge cover and check if the tipping lever flips back and forth easily. Try tipping it manually to see if it registers as rain. You can also try resetting the units.
