Starting Voice Session
Start a voice session as follows:
Step Action
1 Call the premises from a key-type TouchTone (multi-frequency)
telephone.
If… then…
there IS an answering machine on the
premises
wait for it to pick up the
call and complete its
greeting message.

there is NO answering machine on
premises
the system will pick up
the call after the 6
th
ring
and issue a continuous
command prompt beep.
Enter your 6-digit user access code.
If… then…
the system detects a valid access code the system will go off-
hook (if an answering
machine picked up the
call) and then will start the
session in low-volume
Listen mode.

one of the following conditions is met:
•
you do not press a key within 10
seconds
•
you press keys but the system does
not detect a valid code within 20
seconds
•
you make 3 unsuccessful attempts to
enter the access code
the system will stop
listening for the access
code and will hangup if it
has picked up the call.
