Printer Test and Setup
The printer can be tested and setup using the
steps described in this section. However,
please note that the printer has been setup to
work with your instrument, as shipped. No
setup changes are necessary for correct opera-
tion.
Before attempting to change your printer set-
tings, be sure to disconnect the data cable
from the instrument.
Printer Test
Follow these steps to test the printer:
1. Unplug the printer at the outlet or at the
back of the printer.
2. Press and hold the right side of the rocker
switch as you plug in the printer. The
printer will print out a list of the current
configuration settings, and then run a
continuous print test. To stop the print
test, press either side of the rocker switch.
Below is a sample of what is printed when
you do the print test.

MAG=NONE

INT RAM: OK
EXT RAM: OK
ROM: OK

Setup Menu
Follow these steps to access the Setup Menu:
1. Unplug the printer at the outlet or at the
back of the printer.
2. Press and hold the left side of the rocker
switch as you plug in the printer. The
printer will advance the paper.
3. After the paper advance has stopped,
count 3-5 seconds and release the switch.
The following is printed:
*** SETUP MENU ***
CONFIGURE... [NEXT/OK]
If you wait less than three or more than
five seconds, Ready... is printed and you
will have to repeat steps 1 and 2 to access
the Setup Menu.
4. Press NEXT (left side of rocker switch)
repeatedly to display the Setup Menu
options. The list of menu options will
repeat as you continue pressing NEXT.
Following is a list of available Setup
Menu options:
*** SETUP MENU ***
CONFIGURE... [NEXT/OK]
CUSTOM... [NEXT/OK]
RESET SEQ# [NEXT/OK]
CONFIGURE... [NEXT/OK]
These options for customizing your printer
are explained below.
