  If you experience flame loss during the run cycle of your Aerco Boiler, try the following: * Remove and inspect the Flame Detector for signs of wear or cracked ceramic. Replace it if necessary. * Check gas pressure readings using a gauge or manometer into and out of the Air/Fuel Valve to ensure that the gas pressures into and out of the valve are correct. * Check combustion calibration and adjust as necessary. * Remove the burner and inspect for any carbon or debris. Clean and reinstall. * Remove any blockage in the condensate drain.

  To address a remote setpoint signal fault in your Aerco Boiler: * Check the I/O Box to ensure the signal is hooked up. Hook up if not installed. If installed, check polarity. Measure signal level. Check continuity of wiring between source and boiler. * Check the signal at the source to ensure it is isolated. * Check the DIP switch on the PMC board to ensure it is set correctly for the type of signal being sent. Check the control signal type set in the Configuration Menu.

  If you're encountering low gas pressure issues with your Aerco Boiler: * Measure gas pressure upstream of the supply gas regulator with the unit firing. Ensure it is at least 3.5” W.C. for FM gas train, or 4.0” W.C. for IRI gas train. The maximum allowable pressure is 2 psig. * Measure gas pressure at the low gas pressure switch. If it is greater than 2.6” W.C., measure continuity across the switch and replace if necessary.

  If you're facing an ignition switch open during ignition with your Aerco Boiler: * Start the unit. The Air/Fuel Valve should rotate to the purge (open) position, then back to ignition position (towards closed) during the ignition cycle. If the valve does not rotate back to the ignition position, check the Air/Fuel Valve calibration. * If the Air/Fuel Valve does rotate to the ignition position, check the ignition position switch for continuity between the N.O. and COM terminals when in contact with the cam. * Check DS1 & DS2 LEDs on Power Supply Board. If they are not steady ON, replace Power Supply Board. * Check “Heartbeat” LED DS1 and verify it is blinking ON & OFF every second. If not, replace IGST Board.

  To troubleshoot an airflow fault during the purge cycle of your Aerco Boiler: * Start the unit. If the blower does not run, check the blower solid state relay for input and output voltage. If the relay is okay, check the blower. * Start the unit. If the blower runs, check the airflow switch for continuity. Replace the switch if there is no continuity. * Remove the air flow switch and inspect for signs of blockage, clean or replace as necessary. * Inspect the inlet to the combustion blower including any ductwork leading up to the combustion blower for signs of blockage. * Measure for 24 VAC during the start sequence from each side of the switch to ground.

  If you encounter an airflow fault during the run cycle of your Aerco Boiler: * Check the combustion blower for signs of excessive heat or high current draw that may trip thermal or current overload devices. * Inspect the inlet to the combustion blower, including any ductwork leading up to the combustion blower, for signs of blockage. * Remove the airflow switch and inspect for signs of blockage, clean or replace as necessary. * Measure the airflow switch for continuity with the combustion blower running. If there is an erratic resistance reading or the resistance reading is greater than zero ohms, replace the switch. * Run the unit to full fire. If the unit rumbles or runs rough, perform combustion calibration.

  To resolve a delayed interlock open issue with your Aerco Boiler: * Check for a jumper properly installed across the delayed interlock terminals in the I/O box. * If there are 2 external wires on these terminals, check to see if an end switch for a device such as a pump, louver, etc. is tied to these interlocks. Ensure that the device and or its end switch are functional. (a jumper may be temporarily installed to test interlock)

  If you find the interlock open on your Aerco Boiler, take these steps: * Check for a jumper properly installed across the interlock terminals in the I/O box. * If there are two external wires on these terminals, check any Energy Management system to see if they have the units disabled (a jumper may be temporarily installed to see if the interlock circuit is functioning). * Check that the proving switch for any device hooked to the interlock circuit is closing and that the device is operational.
