9.3: AMP DRAW
With the aerator properly moored, mounted, and tilted into the water, turn on the
electrical power. Measure the amperage (amp) draw at the control box and compare
with the rated amp draw on the motor name plate. Amp draw should be consistent with
the rated name plate amp and voltage and not vary by more than + or -5%/ Consult
AEROMIX if the amp draw is outside these limits.
9.4: OBSERVATION OF OPERATION
The TORNADO
®
should run smoothly with no vibrations, rattles, squeaks or other
noises. A suction sound of air being drawn through the draft tube is normal, as is an
occasional “vortex”.
SECTION 10: ALIGNING THE COUPLING
Misalignment of the couplings can happen during shipment or installation. Excessive
vibration or a high pitched whining noise can indicate a misaligned coupling. FIGURE
16 shows how the coupling flanges assemble to the shaft. For complete assembly
instructions check the coupling alignment instructions in Appendix B.
