Function Description:

The Akuvox R29C and R29S are smart intercom systems designed for both indoor and outdoor installations. They facilitate secure entry management through features like door release, RF card access, and network communication. The intercom panels are designed to integrate with building door strikes and can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or a 12V DC power supply, ideally conditioned by an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). The system allows for remote management and monitoring, with the panel starting up like a computer and running Akuvox software.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply:
    • PoE: Recommended for power.
    • 12V DC Power Source: If used, it MUST be power conditioned by a UPS.
    • AC to DC Adapter (Recommended):

      • Output: 12V/1A
      • Connector: Locking barrel connector
    • Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) (Recommended):
      • Minimum specs: 600VA / 300W
  • Network Connection:
    • Internet Cable: CAT5e/6, with a maximum length of 328 feet (100 meters) to the router/switch.
  • Wiring:
    • Ensure all wiring meets minimum specifications.
    • Avoid introducing two power sources for lock release in parallel.
  • Included Components (Akuvox provides):
    • Smart Intercom panel
    • Optional Installation kits:
      • Wall mounting kit
      • Flush mounting kit
      • Plasterboard mounting kit

  • Installation Flexibility: Supports both indoor and outdoor installations. Akuvox offers various mounting options (wall, flush, plasterboard) and rain covers for outdoor use.
  • System Settings Access: A specific sequence of inputs ("9999" -> "Dial key" -> "3888" -> "OK") allows access to system settings, including RF card management.
  • User Feedback: Upon successful door opening, the panel provides audio feedback ("Welcome, please coming") and a visual message ("Opening door succeeded").

Maintenance Features:

  • Installation Guidelines:
    • NO AC POWER should be directly connected to the intercom panel.
    • Verify network communication from the mounting point to the main headend.
    • For retrofit installations, inspect existing wiring for network and power compatibility.
    • Ensure adequate space behind the mounting location for excess wiring.
  • Environmental Considerations:
    • Outdoor Installation: Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
    • Indoor Installation: Keep the panel at least 2 meters away from direct light sources and at least 3 meters away from windows and doors to prevent interference or performance issues.
