8.4.3 Digital Out
The basic instrument is equipped with two digital outputs. To enter this section, move the highlighted bar
to DIGITAL OUT by means of UP or DOWN key and press ENTER key. It is displayed a list of the available
digital outputs. Press UP or DOWN key to make a choice and confirm with ENTER key. To set the parameters,
see section 8.4.5
NOTE. The number of programmable variables changes
according to the selected wiring mode.
Var
Variable associated to the output.
Mode
Output operating mode.
PULSE pulse emission. The pulse length is 150ms fixed.
HIGH maximum threshold. The output is activated when the
value of the selected variable is higher than the set
value.
LOW minimum threshold. The output is activated when the value
of the selected variable is lower than the set value.
NOTE. The HIGH and LOW selections cannot be used for
variables referring to energy.
Delay
This parameter changes according to the selected Mode as follows.
PULSE: pulse length, 150 ms fixed.
HIGH/LOW: output activation delay. Available values: 0; 0.03; 0.3; 1; 3; 10; 30; 100 s.
Hyst.
Threshold hysteresis. This value is expressed as percentage of the threshold value (0÷99%). The
hysteresis has no effect in PULSE mode.
Set
This parameter changes the meaning according to the selected Mode.
PULSE: pulse value expressed in Wh, varh or VAh.
HIGH/LOW: threshold value expressed as percentage of the full scale of the selected variable.
Available values in range 0÷150%
NOTE. According to the selected parameters (instantaneous values or energies) the meter
allows the proper setting (threshold or pulse) automatically.
Considerations on the pulse value calculation
The maximum pulse re-emission rate is 1 pulse/s (3600 pulse/h). The minimum value assignable to the pulse
to prevent the overlapping is:
e
min
= P
max
/ 3600
P
max
is the maximum power on the measuring point controlled by the meter. The pulse value (e
min
) is
expressed in Wh, varh or VAh.
Example 1
P
max
= 5MW
e
min
= 5000000/3600 = 1389 Wh/pulse (1.389 kW/p)
Example 2
P
max
= 800kW
e
min
= 800000/3600 = 222 Wh/pulse (0.222 kWh/p)
