•Thisinputfunctioninvolvestheuseofcomplexalgorithmsin
thecontrollogic.Ifthefunctionisenabledinthecalibration
butthecontrolcircuitforthefunctionisnotinstalled,thereis
apotentialriskforoneormoresystemfailuremodeswhich
couldresultinundesirabletransmissionoperation.Therefore,
theactivationcircuitforthisfunctionMUSTBEproperly
integratedinthevehicleinwhichitisinstalled.Ifthefunction
willnotbeusedinthenalvehicle,itMUSTNOTbeorderedin
thecalibration.Forspecicinstallations,thevehiclemaybe
operatedpriortofullintegrationofthefunctionintothevehicle
wiring.Forexample,abarechassistransportedtoabody
builderwherethefunctionwillbewiredintothecompleted
vehicle.Inthesecases,ifthefunctionisactivatedinthe
calibration,thespecicwiresrelatedtothefunctionmustbe
electricallyisolated,completelyandindividually.Untilproperly
integratedintothenalvehiclewiring,thechassisbuildermust
protectthewiressuchthattheydonotmakeelectricalcontact
withthefollowing:
•eachother,ifthefunctioninvolvesmorethanonewire
•anyothertransmissionwiring
•anyothervehiclewires
•anypartofthevehicleorchassis
•Thisschematicshowstheintendeduseofthespecied
controlsfeaturewhichhasbeenvalidatedintheconguration
shown.Anymiswiringoruseofthisfeaturewhichdiffersfrom
thatshowncouldresultindamagetoequipmentorproperty,
personalinjury,orlossoflife.AllisonTransmissionisnotliable
fortheconsequencesassociatedwithmiswiringorunintended
useofthesefeatures.
