OPERATION
Music Sensor
1. With Music Sensor, you can play the next selection ahead on the tape or replay the
current selection. To play the next selection ahead, press the M.S. button @ so the
M.S. indicator 83 appears in the display. Then check to see which way the tape
direction indicator is pointing. If itis » , press the »® button into the locked position.
The Music Sensor will automatically locate the next selection ahead and begin
playback. If the tape direction indicator shows < , press the <¢4€ button and the
Music Sensor will automatically locate the next selection ahead on the tape.
2. To replay the selection currently being played, press the M.S. button @2 so the M.S.
indicator 63) appears in the display. If the tape direction indicator shows > , press the
4 button into the locked position and the tape will automatically rewind to the
beginning of the song; likewise, if the tape direction indicator shows < , press the
p> button to replay the current selection.
3. To deactivate the Music Sensor feature, press the M.S. button @ a second time (the
M.S. indicator will disappear from the display).
Auto Reverse
When the tape is played or fast-forwarded to the end, the tape transport automatically
reverses the tape direction and playback begins.
Manual Reverse
To manually change playback direction (switch between side A and side B), press the
PROGRAM button ©.
Head Cleaning
When playback sound quality begins to deteriorate, it is time to clean the tape head.
Insert a special head cleaning cassette into the tape deck and allow it to run for
approximately 1 minute to remove any foreign matter. There are special cleaning
cassettes that also clean the capstans and pinch rollers. Please contact your authorized
Alpine dealer for information about these cleaning devices.
