The automatic water softener comprises:
- An AUTOMATIC VALVE that controls the various recharge phases,
- A glass fibre-reinforced resin CYLINDER,
- The CATIONIC RESIN in the CYLINDER,
- A polythene RECEPTACLE for storing the regenerating salts (sodium chloride = coarse household salt),
- A SAFETY FLOAT in the salt receptacle.
The water softener is controlled by an automatic valve, the operating cycle of which comprises five phases:
- SERVICE
- BACKWASHING
- BRINE INTAKE AND SLOW WASHING
- FILLING for BRINE
- FAST WASH
The valve is made of Noryl and contains a residual hardness mixer (MIX) and an automatic bypass during
recharging.
Unions: 3/4" (20x27) G male.
Flow union: sleeve for pipe, 12 mm i.d.
Hard water is passed through a layer of ion-exchanging resin which has the property of filtering out the
deposit-forming salts (calcium and magnesium), and replacing them by non-deposit-forming salts (sodium).
When the resin is saturated, it can be regenerated by washing with a sodium chloride (household salt)
solution (brine). This causes another exchange, but in the opposite direction, which leaves the resins ready
to resume soft water production. This process is entirely automatic.
- 1 FILTRATION SET to install before the softener.
