Why is the dust pick-up on my Alto Sander so poor?
    • C
      Casey RamseySep 12, 2025
If the dust pick-up of your Alto Sander is poor, it might be due to several reasons. The dust bag could be over 1/3 full or dirty. The dust shoe may be improperly adjusted, or the dust chute could be obstructed. Also, extremely fine dust can clog the pores. To resolve this, empty the contents of the bag, shake debris from it, and wash it. Readjust the dust shoe. Remove the fan cover and clear the throat. Additionally, shake debris from the bag and wash it.

      samuel19Sep 7, 2025
If the motor of your Alto Sander will not start or runs sluggishly, it could be due to a defective circuit breaker, start capacitor, or electronic start switch, low voltage from a poor connection, a defective motor or bearing, no power at the outlet, low voltage from excessive footage, an undersized extension cord, or a defective run capacitor. Check the power supply and connections. Locate the power source nearer to the work site. Decrease sanding pressure. Refer to the squealing section to locate a defective bearing. Contact an authorized dealer.
