Usage Features

Installation:

  • Professional Installation: Installation must be performed by a qualified HVAC professional.
  • Mounting: Indoor unit requires a flat, adequately supported wall. Outdoor unit must be on a level surface or supports, secured with expansion screws.
  • Piping: Refrigerant pipes must be insulated, flared correctly using R410A flaring tools, and purged with nitrogen during brazing to prevent contamination and damage. Oil traps may be required for vertical pipe runs (33 ft/10m for outdoor unit lower than indoor, 20 ft/6m for outdoor unit higher than indoor).
  • Drainage: Condensate drain pipe must be sloped downward to prevent flooding. Outdoor unit includes a drain pipe connector.
  • Wiring: Electrical work must comply with NEC and local codes. Dedicated power circuits are required. Grounding is essential to prevent electrical shock and fire. Field wiring should be securely clamped and protected.
  • Controllers: Can be operated by a remote controller (sold separately) or a wired controller (sold separately).

Operation:

  • Test Operation: After installation, perform a test run, cycling through AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN, and HEAT (for heat pump models) modes.
  • Auxiliary Operation: In case of remote controller loss/damage, an auxiliary button on the indoor unit allows operation in auto mode (77°F for cooling, 68°F for heating) without temperature adjustment.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance:

  • Regular checks and maintenance by professional personnel are recommended to prolong unit lifespan.

Outdoor Heat Exchanger:

  • Check and clean every two months.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner with a nylon brush to remove dust and debris.
  • Blow away dust with compressed air.
  • DO NOT use water to wash the heat exchanger.

Drain Pipe:

  • Regularly check for clogs to ensure proper condensate drainage and prevent water damage.

Check Before Seasonal Use:

  • Ensure indoor and outdoor unit inlets/outlets are not clogged.
  • Verify power and communication cables are securely attached and undamaged.
  • Replace wireless remote controller batteries.
  • Clean and securely replace the filter screen.
  • If shut down for long periods, open the main power switch 8 hours before operation to preheat the compressor.
  • Confirm secure installation of indoor and outdoor units.
  • Contact dealer/technician for any abnormalities.

Maintenance After Seasonal Use:

  • Cut off main power supply.
  • Clean indoor unit filters.
  • Clean dust and debris from indoor and outdoor units.
  • Apply anti-rust paint to rusted areas.

Indoor Unit Maintenance:

  • Surface Cleaning: Clean outer surface with a dry or damp cloth. Use mild detergent for residue; wipe dry. DO NOT use chemical solvents or flammable liquids.
  • Filter Cleaning: Clean a minimum of every three months, more often in dusty/smoky areas.
    • Open front panel, remove screw on wiring cover, remove cover.
    • Remove filter by grasping edges and pulling downward.
    • Clean filter with vacuum or rinse under cool, clear water.
    • For very dirty filters, use warm water (below 115°F/45°C) and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
    • DO NOT dry filter in direct sunlight or with fire/hair dryer to avoid warping or fire hazard.
    • Reinstall filter and close front panel.
  • Safety Note: After removing the filter, DO NOT touch evaporator fins to avoid injury.

Parts Replacement:

  • Purchase parts from an installing or servicing center or dealer.

After-Sales Service:

  • Contact local installing/servicing dealer for problems or service.
