5.6.5 Checking and tensioning the V-belt

The re move the V-belt guard
•
Check the con di tion and ten sion of the V-belt (1), re place
dam aged V-belts
•
Loosen rub ber buffer fix ing nuts (2)
•
Tension the V-belt by shift ing the en gine bracket (3)
De flec tion X: About 15 mm
•
En sure uni form buffer ten sion
•
Tighten rub ber buff ers
•
Crank the drive man u ally, re check de flec tion and cor rect if
nec es sary
•
Fit V-belt guard
•
Af ter about 25 op er at ing hours, re check the V-belt ten sion and
retension if nec es sary.
To be noted is that the bracket (3) moves and not only
the buff ers are elon gated. In this case, the buff ers
should be tapped for ward lightly with a ham mer.
Do not start en gine with out V-belt guard, risk of in -
jury.
