Overview

The device described in this manual is an Anko Bladeless Ceramic Fan Heater, model ABH100. It is designed for indoor household use to provide heating.

Function Description:

This appliance operates as a bladeless ceramic fan heater, offering both fan-only operation and two heat modes (Low and High). It features a thermostat to maintain a desired room temperature and an oscillation function for wider heat distribution. A timer function allows for scheduled operation. The bladeless design contributes to a sleek aesthetic and potentially safer operation compared to traditional fan heaters.

Important Technical Specifications:

The manual specifies that the heater operates on a voltage indicated on its rating label. It has two heating power settings: Low Heat Mode at 1000W and High Heat Mode at 1500W. The thermostat can be set to temperatures between 15°C and 40°C. The timer can be set for 1 to 12 hours in 1-hour intervals. The device is equipped with three safety mechanisms: a Tilt Switch, a Resettable Thermal Link, and a Thermal Fuse. The Tilt Switch automatically turns off the appliance if it's not in the correct operating position. The Resettable Thermal Link disconnects power upon overheating and resets once cooled. The Thermal Fuse provides a permanent disconnection in case of severe overheating.

Usage Features:

The heater can be controlled via a control panel on the unit itself or a remote control (requiring 2 x AAA batteries, not included).

  • Power On/Off: The main power switch is located at the back of the heater. The unit beeps when turned on. The control panel and remote have a "Mode On/Off" button to cycle through modes and turn the unit off. When powering off from the control panel/remote, the heater will continue to run in FAN mode for 30 seconds to cool down before the display goes black.
  • Operating Modes:
    • Fan Mode: Upon initial power-on via the control panel, the heater blows room temperature air, and the "Fan" indicator lights up.
    • Low Heat Mode: Pressing the "Mode On/Off" button again activates Low Heat Mode (1000W). The "Low" indicator lights up, and "01" flashes on the screen before reverting to the current room temperature display.
    • High Heat Mode: A third press of the "Mode On/Off" button activates High Heat Mode (1500W). The "High" indicator lights up, and "02" flashes on the screen before reverting to the current room temperature display.
  • Thermostat Adjustment: The "Temp" button allows users to set a desired temperature between 15°C and 40°C. The display flashes the set temperature four times before showing the current room temperature. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain this set temperature. The fan continues to run even when heating elements switch off.
  • Timer Function: The "Timer" button sets the operating duration from 1 to 12 hours. The display flashes the set time four times before showing the current room temperature. The timer can be cancelled by setting it to "00".
  • Oscillation: The "Swing" button activates or deactivates the oscillation function, allowing the heater to rotate and distribute warmth more broadly.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning is recommended to ensure trouble-free operation and prevent overheating.

  • Cleaning Procedure:
    • Always unplug the heater from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
    • Vacuum clean the air vents and grills regularly to remove dust and fluff, which are common causes of overheating.
    • Wipe the exterior of the heater with a damp (not wet) cloth, rinsed in hot soapy water, to remove dust and dirt.
    • Ensure the heater is completely dry before plugging it back into the mains supply.
  • Prohibited Cleaning Agents: Do not use abrasive cleaning products, petrol, thinners, or polishing agents.
  • User Serviceable Parts: The manual explicitly states that there are no user-serviceable parts installed in the unit, and users should not attempt to dismantle the heater. For service or repair, an authorised electrical service technician should be contacted.
