CAUTION
While lifting the air filter cover, make sure
not to disconnect the intake coupling of
the filter case.
Carefully lift the air filter cover (4).
Remove the air filter (5).
CLEANING
Do not use fuel or flammable solvents to
wash the filter element, to avoid the risk
of fire or explosion.
Never use additives or any cleaning fluid,
to prevent moisture from forming inside
the filter case. Use only compressed air.
Clean the filter element (5) using
compressed air.
DO NOT OIL THE FILTER ELEMENT, as
this will interfere with proper functioning
of the filter and engine.
When reassembling the filter (1), insert it
in the filter cover (2) (making sure that
the gasket adheres to the seat), then
screw the cover onto the filter case.
CHECKING THE BRAKE PAD
WEAR
Carefully read page 43 (BRAKE FLUID-
recommendations), (DISC BRAKES) and
page 56 (MAINTENANCE).
NOTE The following information refers to
a single brake system, but is applicable to
both.
Check the wear of the brake pads after the
first 1000 km (625 mi), and every 2000 km
(1250 mi) thereafter. The wear of the disc
brake pads depends on use, riding style and
road conditions.
