6.4.5 12/24V DC power socket
The plug on your 12/24V DC power lead has a removable end. With the end in place
as shown in Figure 9a, this plug will fit into a conventional vehicle accessories power
socket (cigarette lighter). With the end removed as shown in Figure 9b, this plug will fit
into an ARB 2 pole auxiliary power socket.

ARB highly recommends that this 2 pole connection be used for all 12V DC and 24V
DC connections of your fridge. This will provide a positive and secure connection
between your power source and your fridge.
The following points should be considered when choosing a location for your fridge
auxiliary power socket:
Position the power socket as close to the fridge as is practical.
Position the power socket in a convenient location that will allow the user to
easily connect and disconnect the plug from the socket.
Position the power socket in a protected location away from dust and moisture.
Position the socket high in the vehicle to prevent it from becoming wet should
the vehicle ingest water.
NOTE – If the plug or adaptor collar are removed and the fridge is connected
to a 12V or 24V DC circuit, a 15 Amp inline fuse must be included in the
circuit.
