2.3.1 Default Display and Menu Time-Out
The front panel menu has a selectable default display. The relay will time-out and
return to the default display and turn the LCD back-light off after 5 minutes of keypad
inactivity.
The default display can be choosen from the following options :
· 3 phase or line voltages,
· zero-sequence voltage,
· positive or negative voltage (P922-P923 only),
· frequency (P922-P923 only).
Whenever there is an uncleared alarm present in the relay (e.g. fault record,
protection alarm, control alarm etc.) the default display will be replaced by:
Alarms
Entry to the menu structure of the relay is made from the default display and is not
affected if the display is showing the ‘Alarms present’ message.
2.3.2 Menu Navigation and Setting Browsing
The menu can be browsed using the four arrow keys, following the structure shown in
figure 1. Thus, starting at the default display the 2 key will display the first column
heading. To select the required column heading use the 6 and 4 keys. The setting
data contained in the column can then be viewed by using the 2 and 8 keys. It is
only possible to move across columns at the column heading level. To return to the
default display press the 8 key from any of the column headings.
2.3.3 Password Entry
When entry of a password is required the following prompt will appear:
Password =
AAAA
A flashing cursor will indicate which character field of the password may be changed.
Press the 8 and 2 keys to vary each character between A and Z. To move between
the character fields of the password, use the 6 and 4 keys. The password is confirmed
by pressing the enter key 5. To escape from this prompt press the clear key 0.
Alternatively, the password can be entered using the ‘Password’ cell of the
‘OP.PARAMETERS’ column.
