Cleaning Your Filter
Cleaningofthelteristhesinglemostim-
portantmaintenanceprocedurethatanew
spaownercanperform.
AriesrecommendsthatyoucleanyourFil-
teratleastonceaweek.Ifcaredforprop-
erly,youcanexpecttogetabout1years'
usefromeachFilterCartridge,depending
onspausage.WhentheCartridgebecomes
worn,damaged,orheavilydebris-embed-
ded,replaceitwithanewone.
BeforecleaningtheFilter,makesuretoturnoffpowertothespa,using
theGFCI.Todothis,pushtheblack“test”or“off”buttononyourGFCI.
Or,youcanturnoffpowertothespabyturningoffthebreakerinyour
electricalpanelthatpowersthespa.Oncepowertothespahasbeenter-
minatedyoumayproceedtocleanyourFilter.
As the Top Loading lter is a pressure lter, make sure that
power to spa is turned off before attempting to open this type of
lter. Do not open the lter case while the Circulating Pump is
operating or serious bodily injury could occur.
TolocatetheFilterCartridge,removetheroundcoverlocatedonthetop
“lip”ofyourspa.Underneath,youwillseeadome-shapedplasticlidheld
inplacewitha“mason-jar”typeretainingring.Before attempting to open
this, make sure that you have turned off main power switch or GFCI.
ReleaseanyexcessairintheFilterbyturningthesmallplasticBleed
Valveontopofthelid.Thenunscrewtheretainingringbyturningcoun-
terclockwise.Oncetheretainingringhasbeenloosened,lifttheringand
theFilterlid.Inside,youwillndanaccordion-foldedfabricCartridge.
