Why am I not getting on the internet with my Arris Touchstone TG1672 Gateway?
    • J
      Justin PonceJul 27, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Arris Telephony Gateway from connecting to the internet. It may take over 30 minutes to establish a connection upon initial power up. Ensure the Gateway remains plugged into AC power and connected to the cable system. Check that all cable connections are tight and that the coax cable isn't pinched, kinked, or bent sharply. If splitters are in use, remove them and connect the Gateway directly to the CATV outlet. If the power light blinks for more than 30 minutes, contact your cable company for assistance.

How to fix wireless internet connection that stops working on Arris Touchstone TG1672 Gateway?
    • J
      Jasmine RodriguezAug 1, 2025
If your wireless internet connection on the Arris Gateway intermittently stops working, it might be due to interference from 2.4GHz devices like remote telephones and microwave ovens. If removing the source of interference isn't possible, try changing the channel or enabling Protected Mode on your Gateway.

What to do if I'm not getting internet via Ethernet on my Arris Touchstone TG1672?
    • S
      Stacy Harrison MDAug 5, 2025
If you're unable to connect to the internet via Ethernet with your Arris Gateway, ensure that the hub is turned on if you're using one. Verify you're using the correct type of Ethernet cable: the supplied cable for direct connection to a computer, or a cross-over cable for connection to a hub. You can also try pressing the Reset button on the back of the Telephony Gateway. A misconfiguration could lock out all access to the Telephony Gateway router.

    • X
      xburnsAug 16, 2025
A slow internet connection on your Arris Gateway can be due to a few reasons. The website you're visiting might be experiencing high traffic; try again later. Connection speed can also be affected by peak usage hours. Other communications on your LAN or interference with wireless connections could be slowing down your connection.

If the power light on your Arris Telephony Gateway is off, start by checking all power connections to ensure the power cord is firmly plugged in at both ends. If using a power strip, verify that it is switched on. Avoid using an outlet controlled by a wall switch, if possible. Also, check your fuse or circuit breaker panel.

What to do if I don’t have dial tone on my Arris Touchstone TG1672 Gateway phone?
    • D
      davidrogersNov 10, 2025
If you don't have a dial tone, there could be several reasons: * Check that the power LED is lit, ensuring the Telephony Gateway is plugged in and the outlet has power. * Verify the Online LED is lit; if not, check the coax connection at both the Telephony Gateway and the wall to ensure they are securely connected. * If the Telephone (Tel 1 or Tel 2) LED is not lit, your phone service might not be set up; contact your service provider. * A blinking Telephone LED indicates a phone is off the hook somewhere in the house; find and hang up the phone. * Confirm the phone is plugged into the correct port on the back of the Telephony Gateway (Tel 1 or Tel 2). * Try a different phone and cable to rule out equipment issues. If problems persist after these steps, contact your service pr...
