Explains the structure and options for ordering the TLZ 12 P instrument.
The TLZ 12 P is a microprocessor-based digital electronic freezer controller designed for cooling applications. It offers ON/OFF temperature regulation and defrost control via compressor stoppage. The instrument features up to two relay outputs, one input for Pt1000 or NTC temperature probes, and a configurable digital input. The outputs can manage a compressor or temperature control device (OUT) and an alarm (AL).
The TLZ 12 P provides precise temperature control. Users can set the desired temperature (Set Point) and program various functions to optimize freezer operation. The instrument's regulation is ON/OFF, meaning it switches the OUT output based on the probe measurement, Set Point, intervention differential (HSEt), and function mode (Func). The differential is automatically adjusted for refrigeration (Func=CooL) or heating (Func=HEAt) control.
A key feature is the compressor protection function, which prevents frequent compressor start-ups in cooling applications. This function controls the switching of the OUT output based on a time parameter (PtC) and a programmable compressor protection type (PSC). The PSC parameter allows selection of delay types, such as power-on delay, delay after power-off, or delay between starts, ensuring the compressor operates within safe limits.
Defrost control is automatic and occurs by stopping the compressor. The defrost interval can be computed based on real time (instrument on) or compressor running time (output on). Users can set the defrost cycle interval (dint) and the defrost duration (dEFE). During defrost, the display behavior can be configured to lock on the last temperature reading, show a "dEF" label, or continue to display the measured temperature. Temperature alarms are disabled during defrost and for a configurable period afterward. Manual defrost can also be initiated via a front key or a programmed digital input.
The instrument includes comprehensive alarm functions, signaled by an AL LED, an internal buzzer, and the AL output. Alarms can be silenced manually by pressing any key. Temperature alarms (HI and LO) are relative to the Set Point and have configurable thresholds (HAL, LAL) and differentials (dAL). These alarms can be delayed on power-on (PAL), after defrost (dALd), and with an activation delay (ALd). External alarms can be triggered via the digital input.
The digital input is versatile and can be configured for various functions, including defrost commencement, defrost end, or external alarm signaling. The "U" front key can also be programmed to switch the instrument between ON and Stand-by modes, effectively turning the device on or off.
The TLZ 12 P is designed for flush-in-panel mounting, requiring a 29 x 71 mm hole. It features a 4-digit display and three LED signals (SET, OUT, DEF, AL) for clear status indication, along with four program keys for user interaction. An internal buzzer provides audible alarm signals.
Programming the Set Point is straightforward: press and release the P key, then use the UP/DOWN keys to adjust the value. For function parameters, press and hold the P key for about 5 seconds to enter programming mode. Parameters can be selected and adjusted using the UP/DOWN keys. The instrument supports two programming levels: "visible" and "hidden," with access to the latter requiring a password. This password protection feature (PASS parameter) enhances security and prevents unauthorized changes to critical settings. The "U" key can also be used to modify the visibility of parameters.
The instrument's parameters can be configured via an A01 device, allowing for serial programming and easy transfer of settings between instruments. This is particularly useful for maintaining consistent configurations across multiple devices or for quick re-programming.
The instrument is designed for reliability and ease of maintenance. Error signaling includes "E1" or "-E1" for probe issues (interrupted, short-circuited, or out-of-range), and "EEPr" for internal memory errors. These signals help diagnose problems quickly.
For cleaning, a slightly wet cloth with water is recommended; abrasive cleaners or solvents should be avoided to prevent damage. The instrument is covered by a warranty against manufacturing flaws or faulty material for 12 months from the delivery date. Any opening of the housing, violation, or improper use will void the warranty. In case of a faulty instrument, users are advised to contact the sales department for authorization before sending it for repair.
