Why is my Astralpool Viron EQ making the pool water cloudy?
    • K
      Kristin VargasAug 19, 2025
If you're experiencing cloudy water in your pool when using an Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter, it could be due to a few reasons. The chemical balance might be off, so test the water and adjust as needed to maintain a pH between 7.2 and 7.6, Total Alkalinity (TA) to 120 ppm, and Calcium Hardness (CH) to 180 ppm. Check if the acid container is empty and replace it if necessary. The ORP level might be set too low; adjust it to 700 mv. Also, ensure the pool water volume is correctly set in the install menu and increase it if it's set too low. Insufficient water flow could be a factor, so increase the variable speed of the pump. Finally, make sure there are sufficient water turnovers each day by increasing water turns in the Install menu.

What to do if the Astralpool Viron EQ display is blank?
    • M
      Mary EdwardsAug 22, 2025
If your Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter display is blank, first ensure the controller is properly plugged in and that mains power is available. If the issue persists, it's possible that a fuse has blown, in which case you should call a technician.

What causes a 'Low Salt' warning on my Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter?
    • D
      Dustin ElliottAug 26, 2025
If you're getting a 'Low Salt' message on your Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter, it could be because the salt level in the pool has dropped too low or the pool water temperature is low. In either case, increase the salt level or raise the water temperature. If the issue persists, the cell may have failed, and you should call a technician.

How to decrease high chlorine levels in my Astralpool Viron EQ Swimming Pool Filter?
    • A
      aprilmyersAug 31, 2025
If your Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter shows 'Chlorine too high', it might be because the ORP level is set too high; reduce it to between 600 and 650 mv ORP. Alternatively, the Total Alkalinity might be too low, so test TA and adjust to 80 to 120 ppm. Check if the ORP sensor is fully immersed in the pool water by installing the sensor chamber so that it is always in the water. Finally, if Cyanuric Acid (Chlorine Stabilizer) is present in the pool, you might need to lower the ORP set point.

What does 'Sense wire disconnected from cell' mean on my Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter?
    • W
      wilsonjessicaSep 3, 2025
If your Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter indicates a 'Sense wire disconnected from cell' error, for models with a temperature sensor, low conductivity might be the cause. Check the water temperature. A lack of salt (less than 4000 ppm) due to water loss or dilution could also be the reason; measure the salt concentration using a salt tester or test strip and add salt to maintain a level of 4000 ppm. The condition of the cell plates might also be a factor, so check them. Is the salt level is correct? Also, the cell might be calcified, worn, or out of order.

Why is my Astralpool Viron EQ Swimming Pool Filter not producing chlorine?
    • J
      Jay MillerNov 15, 2025
If your Astralpool Swimming Pool Filter isn't producing enough chlorine, several factors could be at play. First, ensure all cables are securely connected to the cell. The timer period might be too short, so try increasing it. Check if the chlorine output level is set too low and increase it if necessary. The filter may need backwashing, or the pool stabilizer level might be too low, requiring adjustment to between 30 and 60 ppm. Also, verify the salt level and increase it to 4000ppm if it's too low. Water temperature below 15 degrees may also hinder chlorine production, so consider increasing the water temperature or salt level. Conversely, an excessive salt level (above 10,000 ppm) should be reduced to 4000 ppm. Finally, if the e-Q has locked out on fail-safe due to very low chlorine lev...
