3. INSTALLATIONANDASSEMBLY
GENERAL
Ͳ Ourpumpsmayonlybeassembledandinstalledinpoolsorpondsthatarecompliant
withHD384.7.702.Shouldyouhaveanydoubts,pleaseconsultyourspecialist.
Ͳ FitthepumphorizontallyduetothepreͲfilter.ThepumpsarefittedwithapreͲfilter
withabasketinsidetocollectanylargeparticles,astheymaydamagethehydraulicpart
insidethepump.
Ͳ Allpumpsarefittedwithafootwithtwoholesinittoanchorittotheground.(Fig1).
PIPING
Ͳ Toconnectthepiping,gluethepipesandtheconnectors,suppliedtogetherwiththe
pump;thefittingconnectionstothesuctionandreturnportsonthepumparethreaded
andincludesealstopreventwaterloss(Fig.2).
Ͳ Fitthereturnpipescompletelyperpendicularandcentredinrelationtotheporttobe
connectedtopreventthepumpandthepipefrombeingsubjectedtoexternalstress
that,apartfrommakingfittingdifficult,couldbreakthem(Fig.2).
Ͳ Fitthesuctionpipingonaslight2%slopetowardsthepumptoavoidtheformationof
airpockets(Fig.2).
Ͳ Toensurethepumpworkscorrectly,primethepumppreͲfilteruntilwaterrisesup
throughthesuctionpipe(Fig.3).
LOCATION
Ͳ Fitthepumpunderneaththewaterlevelinthepooltoimprovepumpperformance.
Ͳ WhereaselfͲprimingpumpistobefittedabovethewaterlevel,thedifferenceinheight
mustbenomorethan2metres(Fig.4),ensuringthatthesuctionpipeisasshortas
possibleasalongpipewouldincreasedrainagetimesandloadlossesintheinstallation.
Ͳ Makesurethatthepumpissafefrompossiblefloodingandreceivesdryventilation.
ELECTRICINSTALLATION
Ͳ Theelectricinstallationmustincludeamultipleseparationsystemwithcontact
openingsofatleast3mm.
Ͳ Usearigidcabletoconnecttothemains.Ifyouuseaflexiblecabletoconnecttothe
mains,itmusthavecablelugstoconnecttotheterminalsofthepumpmotor.
Ͳ Withanytypeofpump,0.03Adifferentialprotectionmustbefittedforelectricity
leakageprotection(indicatedonthediagrams).
Ͳ Adjustthevalueofthethermalrelayappropriatelydependingonthepumpcurrent.
Forpumpswithasinglephasemotor:
x Thermalprotectionisincorporated.Installationwithaswitchissufficient,inlinewith
the“Mainconnections”diagram.
x UseamotorguardwithmagnetoͲthermalprotection.
x Theadjustmentdataforthethermalrelayistobeusedasaguideline,asthemotoris
alreadyfittedwithprotection.
