Installing the ADB and TMI Boards
The EPROM described in these directions is connected to an ADB or a
TMI board in the 8510T terminal. If you have not installed this board,
see the instructions that are shipped with the board,

Removing the Old EPROM Cartridge (if necessary);
Inserting the New EPROM Cartridge
Once the desktop stand has been removed from the terminal and the
ADB or TMI board is in place, you can install or replace the EPROM.
1 If you are upgrading the software of your current terminal, and
therefore replacing the EPROM, slowly remove the old EPROM with
a screwdriver. Slide the screwdriver under the EPROM, as shown in
Figure 3, and slowly and gently lift up on the EPROM until the
EPROM works free.
NOTE: Figure 3 shows a TMI board; however, the location of the
EPROM is the same on both the ADB and the TMI boards.

2 Before you can install the new EPROM into the ADB or the TMI
board, you may need to straighten out the pins on the sides of the
new EPROM so that the pins are at right angles with the chip body.
