Optional backup battery installation
Install four AA batteries (purchased separately) to use some features of
this telephone in the event of a power failure. If power fails with working
batteries installed, all the lines of this telephone will work only with the
corded handset. You can answer calls, and dial calls using the telephone
base dial pad and the one touch or redial features. No other features will
work until AC power is restored.
Install the telephone base as shown below:
NOTES:
Use disposable AA alkaline batteries only. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
When there is no AC power, the screen backlight is off.

battery compartment
cover.

Place the batteries
in the compartment
following the polarity
label +/-.
Align the cover flat
against the battery
compartment, then
slide it to the left
until it clicks into
place to lock the
cover.
