SAVE--GIVE FILE , START, END (,INIT, RUN)
FILE is the nam e of the file to be saved. A driv e specifier may be
included.
The START a nd END parameters are req uir ed for e ith er a binary
file or a program. Th ese specify the starting a nd e ndin g
addresses
in hexadecimal of the p ort ion of the memory to be
saved.
The INIT and RUN addresses are opt i ona l parameters. These
allow a program to be exec ut ed upon lo ad in g. The INIT addr ess
gives the sta rtin g address of an initi ali zatio n r out in e. Th e RUN
address gives the start in g l ocat i on of the main program. The INIT
and RUN addr esses are used by the Binary Load ope ration to
automatically exec ut e a program after it h as been l oaded . Th e
INIT a nd RUN addresses must be specified in h exadec im al
not at ion .
When the Binary Save ope r atio n is spec ifi ed in DOS 1.0, the
foll ow ing prompt will appear .

FILE gives the name of the objec t file to be created. A
dri ve specifier can be used preceding the filename .
START and END give

A file can be saved in DOS 1.0 so that it will be automat i ca lly
executed when it is loaded by Bina ry Load. To accomp lish this,
the program starting address shou ld be placed in memory
addr esses 736 and 737 (2EO and 2E l in hexadecimal). The l ow byte
of the program starting address should be placed in address 736
and the high byte in 737. The POKE stateme nt ca n be used to
place the proper va lu es in these l ocatio n s.
