Overview

The ATC Lifestyle Digital Electric Radiator is a modern, state-of-the-art heating appliance designed for efficient and reliable room heating. It features a large TFT-LCD screen with white backlight and black images for ease of legibility, controlled by six touch-sensitive keys.

Function Description:

The radiator operates by heating a special oil contained within its elements, which then radiates heat into the room. It offers multiple operating modes:

  • Comfort Mode: Allows direct temperature selection between 12°C and 30°C in 0.5°C steps. Ideal for occupied rooms, with a typical comfort temperature of 20-21.5°C.
  • ECO Mode: Automatically sets a temperature between 0.5°C and 4.5°C less than the selected comfort temperature. This mode is suitable for short periods of absence to prevent excessive temperature drops. The ECO temperature range is 7.5°C to 29.5°C.
  • Anti-Frost Mode: Maintains a factory-set temperature of 7°C to prevent freezing during long periods of absence.
  • Program Mode: Allows users to set daily and weekly heating schedules, automatically switching between comfort, eco, or anti-freeze settings in half-hour intervals. The program display shows a 12-hour program around an analogue clock face, with AM and PM screens.
  • Manual Mode: Enables temporary override of the current settings, allowing the user to force the heater on or off for a set duration (from 0 to 365 days, and in 1-minute or 30-minute increments for hours) and at a desired temperature (7°C to 30°C). After the set time, the radiator reverts to its previous operating mode.

Key Features:

  • Control Panel: Features a TFT-LCD screen with six touch-sensitive keys for confirming modes, selecting operating modes, entering manual mode, and adjusting settings.
  • Standby Function: The radiator can be turned on or off by touching and holding the ON/OFF key. In standby, a short beep sounds when any key is touched, and the standby screen appears for 10 seconds.
  • Memory Function: In case of power failure, the radiator remembers its previous mode of operation, temperature, and on/off state. The day and time are saved for up to 10 years thanks to a button cell battery (CR2032).
  • Configuration Mode: Allows users to set various parameters, including brightness level at rest (0%, 25%, 65%, 100%), maximum brightness time (1 to 240 seconds), setting the time (hour/day), Open Window function, Adaptive Start Control, and Reset Default.
  • Open Window Function: When enabled, the system automatically switches off the radiator if it detects a sudden drop in temperature (4°C in 20 minutes), typically caused by an open window or door. This function contributes to energy efficiency.
  • Adaptive Start Control: In Program mode, this function analyzes the next two hours and calculates when to start heating to efficiently reach the next programmed set-point temperature. It progressively increases the set-point temperature.
  • Keyboard Lock: The keyboard can be locked by touching and holding the up and down keys for 2 seconds, preventing accidental changes. A padlock icon appears on the screen when locked.
  • Internal Parameter Configuration: Includes two user-configurable parameters:
    • Temperature Offset (Param. 1): Allows adjustment of the probe correction setting (-5°C to +5°C in 0.1°C steps) to calibrate the displayed temperature with the actual room temperature.
    • Easy Mode (Param. 2): Offers two settings: 1P (full control over all features) and 2P (simplified control, allowing only temperature adjustment).
  • Heating Indication: A thermometer symbol filling up in the top right corner of the display indicates when the radiator is actively heating.

  • Weight (Kg): Ranges from 9.3kg to 25.8kg.
  • Class: I.
  • Index of Protection: IP24.
  • Type of Radiator: Fluid-filled.
  • Heat Output: Nominal heat output (Pnom) and maximum continuous heat output (Pmax,c) range from 0.5 kW to 1.8 kW.
  • Auxiliary Electricity Consumption: Ranges from 0.5036 kW to 1.8111 kW at nominal and minimum heat output, and 0.0003 kW in standby mode.

Installation Requirements:

  • Must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with current UK and Irish regulations.
  • Should not be located underneath an electrical connection or light switch.
  • The electric supply line must be protected with a high sensitivity differential device (RCBO).
  • Requires a minimum distance of 100mm to curtains, furniture, etc., for proper hot air circulation.
  • In bathrooms, it must be mounted outside Zone 2 (UK) or Zone 3 (Ireland), with control unit switches unreachable from the bath/shower or wash basin (at least 0.6m away).
  • A switched spur and a fused connecting box with an appropriate sized fuse are recommended for each heater.
  • The connecting box should be positioned 10cm to the right of the appliance and 15cm above the floor.
  • Mounting is done using adjustable brackets fixed to the wall, with a cardboard template provided for drilling holes.

Maintenance Features:

  • Requires very little maintenance.
  • Surfaces should be cleaned regularly with PH neutral products; abrasive or granular substances should not be used.
  • Electric power should be switched off before cleaning.
  • Failure to keep the radiator clean may lead to dust burning and dark streaks on the wall above the heater.
  • In case of oil leakage, repairs must only be made by the manufacturer or ATC.
  • Replacement of the button cell battery (CR2032) for time and day retention should be done by an authorized electrician.

Safety Information:

  • Do not cover the radiator to prevent overheating.
  • Do not sit on the radiator.
  • Not intended for outdoor use.
  • Damaged power cords must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or qualified persons.
  • Can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities if supervised or trained.
  • Children under 3 years should be kept out of reach unless constantly supervised.
  • Some parts of the product can become hot and cause burns; caution is advised when children and vulnerable people are present.
  • If discarded, ensure responsible recycling of oil and follow local provisions.
  • A Safety Data Sheet is available from sales@atc.ie.

Error Notifications:

The device can detect two types of errors:

  • ERROR1: Failure in microcontroller, EPROM, or other PCB components.
  • ERROR2: Failure of the NTC probe (e.g., disconnected, short-circuited). Upon recovering from an error, the radiator returns to Stand-by mode and does not retain previous settings.
