Overview

This document provides installation and usage instructions for the Atmor "Platinum" and "Optima" instant water heaters. These appliances are designed to provide continuous and unlimited hot water, offering significant energy savings compared to traditional 120-liter boilers.

Function Description

The Atmor instant water heater operates on an "open water outlet" principle, meaning the water outlet must always remain open for the unit to function correctly. The device heats water on demand as it flows through, eliminating the need for a storage tank and reducing energy waste. It features a pressure-operated power switch, ensuring the unit only activates when water is flowing.

The "Platinum Completa" model offers a digital temperature display, flow control, and power setting adjustments. It can be configured for multi-shower use and includes a shower kit with a quality sprayer, adjustable shower head, sliding rail, and soap dish. An optional Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) can be integrated for enhanced safety.

The "Platinum Multi" model also includes a digital temperature display (in digital models), flow control, and multi-temperature control. It is suitable for shower or sink applications.

The "Platinum Tri" model features three temperature settings and is also suitable for shower or sink use, with a digital temperature display available in digital models.

Usage Features

Installation:

  • Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician.
  • A residual current device (ELCB) is recommended to be installed on the main board prior to the appliance.
  • Water installation must precede electrical installation, with a leakage check performed afterward.
  • The appliance requires a minimum water pressure of 0.3 bar (4 LBS/IN) and should be installed horizontally, with water supply from the lower left side only.
  • The unit must be grounded.
  • For shower and handwash units (3 kW up to 9.5 kW), the appliance should be installed above a person's height using the provided wall plugs and screws.
  • The electric cable connects to the terminal block inside the unit.
  • A separate electric cable in the switchboard is required, with specific cable sizes and fuse ratings depending on the kW loading and voltage (e.g., 2.5mm² cable for 3.0-3.5kW at 220-240V).
  • The unit must be connected to the electric supply via a 2-pole switch for single-phase units or a multi-pole switch for multi-phase units.
  • Only the supplied hoses should be used; do not reuse old hoses.

Operation:

  • To activate, slowly turn on the water valve until the neon lights on the rocker switch illuminate.
  • Allow 15-20 seconds for hot water to start flowing. The unit has an integrated valve, eliminating the need for an external valve.
  • To achieve colder water, gradually increase the water flow.
  • To achieve hotter water, decrease the water flow.
  • The selector heating positions include:
    • "0" (shut off)
    • "1" (low, light no. 1 ON)
    • "2" (medium, light no. 2 ON)
    • "3" (high, both lights ON)
  • The unit automatically activates when the water valve is opened and shuts off when the water supply is closed.
  • For maximum efficiency, utilize the 4-position spray (Massage, Jet, Spray+Massage) to adjust temperature and water flow to user comfort.
  • For models with slide rails, the handset holder can be positioned at the desired height by twisting the grip ring clockwise. The angle of the shower spray is adjusted by moving the handset in its holder. When installing the riser rail, consider the height of the tallest person who will use the shower regularly.

Safety Warnings:

  • Only use the supplied outlet accessories.
  • The water outlet must always be left open.
  • Do not switch the appliance ON if there is a possibility that the water in the heater is frozen.
  • The use of the appliance by young children or infirm persons without supervision is forbidden.
  • Playing with the unit by young children is forbidden.

Maintenance Features

  • The spray head should be regularly cleaned to avoid and remove scale buildup, ensuring enjoyable use and preventing blockages.
  • For Platinum ELCB models, the Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker should be periodically tested by pressing the test button. The ELCB should trip to the "off" position (the arm below should move downwards). To reset, push the arm up to "on."
