Setting the distance

The distance between the two vehicles will
change in the instrument cluste r display.
When approach ing an object ahead, the adaptive
cru ise control system brakes to match that speed
and the n adj usts to the set distance . If the object
ahead acce lerat es, adapt ive cruise control will al-
so acce lerat e up to the stored speed .
The higher the speed, the greater the distance in
meters ¢ ,&.. The
Distance 3 sett ing is recom-
mended. That is equal to the genera l recommen-
dation of "ha lf the speed shown on the speedom -
eter".
The distances provided are specified values . De-
pending on the driving sit uation and the way the
object ahead is driving, the act ual distance may
be mo re or less t han t hese targe t dista nces.
