• Never drive faster than the speed for which the winter or other
tires in stalled on your vehicle are rated.

Always adjust your driving to the road and traffic condit ions .
Never let the good acceleration of the winter tires and all -wheel
dri ve tempt you into taking extra risks. Always remember :
• When braking , an all -wheel drive vehicle handles in the same
way as a front drive vehicle .
• Drive carefully and reduce your speed on icy and slippery roads ,
even winter tires cannot help under bla ck ice conditions.

Use summer tires when weather conditions permit. They are
quiete r, do not wea r as qui ckly and reduce fuel cons ump ti o n. •
Snow chains
Snow chains may be f itte d only to the fron t w heels, an d on ly to
certain tire sizes. Ask your authorized Audi dealer on which tire
sizes snow chains can be used.
If you are going to use snow cha ins, then you must instal l them on
the front wheels at least.
The snow chains must have low-pro f ile links and must not be t h icker
than 0.53 inch (13.5 mm), including the lock.

rized Audi dealers.

Using the w rong snow chains for your vehicle or installing them
incorrectly can increase the risk of loss of control leading to
serious personal injury.
• Snow chains are available in different sizes. Alway s make sure
to follow the instructions provided by the snow chain manufac -
turer.
• When driving with snow chains never drive faster than the
speed permitted for your specific snow chains .
• Always observe local regulations .

• Snow chains, w hi ch come int o direct co ntact w it h t he w heel rim ,
can scratch or damage it. Th erefore, make sure that the snow chains
are suitab ly cov ered.
• If the Adaptive Air Suspension should malfunction, do not
mo unt or use snow cha ins because t he veh icle w ill be ext reme ly
low. If you do drive with snow chains on while the vehicle is at this
level, the snow chains mig ht severely da mag e th e wheel house and
other parts of the vehicle .
