If side ass ist switches off by itself, the LED in the
button turns off and a message will appear in the
instr ument cluster disp lay:
Audi side assist: Currently unava ilable . No sen-
sor vision
The rada r senso rs' vision is affected . Do not cover
the area in front of the senso rs with bike wheels,
stickers, dirt or other objects . Clean the area in
front of the sensors, if necessary

Side assist can not be swit ched o n t empo ra rily be-
cause there is a mal function (for exam ple, the
battery charge level may be too low) .
Audi side assist: System fault!
The system cannot guarantee that it will detec t
ve hicles correctly and it is swit ched off . The sen-
sors have bee n disp laced or are fa ulty. Have the
syst em checked by an au thor ized Audi de aler or
au t hor ized Audi Service Facility soon.
Audi side assist: Unavailable when towing .
Side assist sw itches off automatically when a fac-
tory-installed trailer hitch is connected to the
e lectr ical connector on the trailer . There is no
guarantee t he syste m will sw itch off when usi ng
a retrofitted tra iler hitc h. Do not use side assist
when t owing a t railer.
