System characteristics of the evasion assist function
• Evasion essist does not provide steering assistance unless the
driver is actively steering the vehicle
• Evasion assist is available at speeds of between about 30 and
150 kph
• and helps the driver to steer around an obstacle on the left or
right.
Deactivating evasion assist
If Audipresense is switched o in the MMI, evasion assist is not
available. The system can be reactivated in the MMI.
Depending on country version
1)
, a deactivated Audipresense
system (and thus evasion assist) is automatically re-activated when
the ignition is turned o and on again.
Driver prioritisation over system
If the driver takes clear evasive action, accelerates or brakes during
the individual phases of Audi pre sense front functions, the
momentary actions of Audi pre sense front (e.g.partial braking
operation I) will be suppressed or cancelled.
Evasion assist is an exception here. If the driver takes clear evasive
action after a warning jerk, the evasion assist can guide the driver
along the computed evasion line by providing helpful steering
inputs. In this case, the assistance is not cancelled by a clear
evasive action.
Eect of system settings on Audipresensefront functions
• If Audipresense is deactivated, the functions of
Audipresensefront are also deactivated.
• If ESC is set to "oroad" or "o", certain functions of
Audipresensefront are deactivated.
• If downhill assist is activated, certain functions of
Audipresense front are deactivated.
Other functions
If the vehicle is also equipped presensebasic or presenserear in
addition to Audipresensefront, the following action can also be
taken in critical situations:
• Closing the side windows
• Closing the panoramic glass sunroof
2)
• Inflation of the side bolsters in the seats and seat backs
2)
.
• Tensioning of the electrically reversible seat belt tensioners
